Hello and welcome to my web site!

This site is intended to help students and other interested professionals learn more about my work as an educational/research consultant and counselor educator. Currently, I am Professor and Chair of the Department of Counseling and Human Services at Johns Hopkins University.

My professional research interests include examining the multicultural self-efficacy of school counselors, multicultural counselor training, college access and equity, urban school counseling, social justice-based school counseling, and the retention and recruitment of counselor educators-of-color.

I provide educational and research consultation for school counselors, other school-related personnel, and school districts. If you are interested in my services, please contact me.

On a personal note, I enjoy relaxing at the beach, listening to R&B music, reading African American literature, and spending time with my husband (Alvin) and two children (Niles and Nia).
